Eroski S. Coop. and Salvesen Logística have reached an agreement for the provision, since last February, of logistics services at a controlled temperature in the logistics center of the Zubieta Industrial Estate in Amorebieta-Echano, Bizkaia, for the preparation of orders for fresh the categories of meat, fish, fruit and fresh products (eggs, dairy products, etc.).
With a workforce of more than 130 people, a total work area of more than 14,000 m² with 4 refrigerated areas at different temperatures and more than 30 docks where palletized merchandise is received daily from Eroski suppliers throughout Spain. Orders are placed (50,000 boxes/day on average) and dispatched to almost 200 Eroski stores and their franchisees, with hardly any need to store the product beforehand.
The Eroski facilities in Zubieta have been modernized with open-plan spaces that can share processes and make it possible to simplify processes, now being more efficient and giving the best treatment to the product that arrives at the stores.
